We have a responsibility as individuals and industry professionals to understand Canada’s history of colonization, incorporate Indigenous culture and knowledge, and dismantle the systems of oppression.

Read the 94 Calls-To-Action in the 2015 final report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, mandated to inform Canadians about the truth of Canada’s Indian Residential School system. There is an excellent summary of the Calls-To-Action written by 4 Seasons of Reconciliation. The Beyond 94 website monitors progress on the 94 Calls-to-Action.

Take the Indigenous Canada online course offered (for free!) by the University of Alberta Faculty of Native Studies.  Explore different histories and contemporary perspectives of Indigenous peoples living in Canada

Take the Ingenious Awareness Course developed by 4 Seasons of Reconciliation and offered by First Nations University of Canada, available to APEGA members for $50 including up to 10 guests. Learn about the history and culture of Indigenous Peoples and the importance of reconciliation.
