WCE’s Summer Social: Celebrating International Women in Engineering Day

WCE Calgary hosted its summer social in celebration of International Women in Engineering Day.

This year’s theme, Engineering Intelligence, invited participants to recognize that intelligence in engineering extended beyond technical outcomes. It lived in problem-solving, judgment, collaboration, leadership, creativity, and community. As women remained underrepresented in the profession, INWED served as a moment to amplify the contributions women were making while inspiring those coming next.

To mark the occasion, WCE Calgary was proud to host its fourth annual Summer Social, sponsored by PCL and Entuitive, at Veranda at The Stables. This relaxed social setting created space to connect across career stages and disciplines, celebrating collective intelligence through conversation, visibility, and shared experience.

Attendees enjoyed casual games on the lawn and delicious food and drinks while catching up with colleagues and meeting new faces. Whether engineers or part of the broader community, all were welcomed to join in the celebration.
