Our Virtual Joint Mentorship Mixer was hosted by WCE Calgary & WCE VancouverThis event featured a lineup of inspiring and experienced women in engineering mentor. The virtual format replicated our popular in-person mentorship mixers, allowing guests to participate from the comfort of their home, office, or anywhere in the world!

Mentees had the opportunity to select their top four discussion topics and join a corresponding breakout room during the event. There were three discussion rotations, each lasting 30 minutes, allowing guests to explore multiple topics and connect with various mentors.

The evening was filled with valuable insights, shared experiences, and connections between like-minded individuals in the industry.

Alison Regan
Director of Projects | WaterSMART Solutions Ltd.
Alison is a Professional Engineer and experienced Project Manager with a Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta (2007). Since graduating, Alison has held a number of roles. She is currently the Director of Projects at WaterSMART Solutions Ltd. Alison has a passion for leadership, engagement and facilitation. She believes in the core principles of teamwork, empowerment and continuous improvement.


Allana Spooner, P.Eng., PMP
Project Manager | Binnie
Allana is a Project Manager with 5+ years of experience managing projects ranging from tenant improvement to civil infrastructure upgrades and new building construction for a variety of large public clients. Her road to finding a home in project management was a rough one, with stops in design, field engineering, and unemployment, but she has found resiliency through her own struggles and now strives to be a supporter and mentor to other young professionals facing similar situations. She firmly believes that everyone has a right to feel comfortable being their authentic self at work and is intentional about providing a safe space for colleagues to do so.


Allison Good Brown, OALA, CSLA, PMP
Director, Landscape Architecture & Urban Design | WSP
Allison Good is a Registered Landscape Architect and Project Manager (PMP) who has been a WSP team member for over thirteen years and is currently Director of Landscape Architecture & Urban Design for Ontario and Atlantic Canada. Her leadership style is focused on engagement of the team through projects that are meaningful to them and their communities. With nearly 20 years of professional experience across Canada, Allison has developed a broad portfolio of projects with a focus on transit, transportation, active transportation and streetscape projects. She has served as Senior Landscape Architectural Advisor in the delivery of OnCorr (RER 3), and currently plays a leadership role in the Landscape Architecture delivery for the Calgary Green Line and Landscape Architecture and Urban Design delivery for Ontario Line EGS North transit projects.
Her professional focus is complemented by a keen interest in education and community. In 2015, she spearheaded the WSP Landscape Architecture and Urban Design Student Internship Program and has been an active Mentor in WSP’s PLAUD Mentorship program, serving as a mentor to staff across Canada in Planning and Landscape Architecture as well as a Professional Development Mentor for the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects. Allison lives in Ottawa with her husband and two very energetic kids.


Alyssa Hermann, P.Eng., PMP
Design Engineer | Binnie
Alyssa is a Design Engineer who has worked at Binnie since 2015. During that time, she has upgraded her schooling, finishing her Bachelor’s degree at BCIT and pursuing a course-based Master’s program at the University of Toronto. Alyssa has experienced firsthand the power of robust support systems in attracting and retaining women in STEM fields. With this in mind, five years ago she co-founded RISE, an employee resource group created to build connections, support career growth, and celebrate the accomplishments of the women at Binnie. In her work, Alyssa focuses on land development for both private and institutional clients, serving her community by designing systems that keep the city functioning and help it grow.


Amber McMinn, P.Eng.
Lead Engineer, Bridges (BC / Yukon) | WSP
Amber McMinn, P.Eng. is a structural engineer at WSP with 20 years of experience as a lead bridge engineer and project manager. She is the Regional Team Lead for her group’s Yukon portfolio. Her main area of expertise is structural design and rehabilitation of highway bridges, encompassing several aspects of engineering, including detailed design, load ratings, structural inspections, rehabilitation design, contract document compilation, and construction support. Amber has been an active Mentor with EGBC since 2011.


Brigette Martin, P.Eng.
Acoustical Consultant | BKL Consultants Ltd.
Brigette Martin has worked in the Lower Mainland for over 10 years as an acoustical consultant at BKL Consultants. Brigette graduated from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2009. Before joining BKL in 2015, Brigette worked as an acoustical consultant on various building and environmental projects throughout New Zealand and Australia. Brigette has continued this work at BKL, focusing more on environmental acoustics.

Over her career, Brigette has experienced the demands of being an engineering consultant, from providing technical expertise and leading projects to supporting pursuits and managing staff, and at Imperial Oil. Over the past two years, she has transitioned her focus to project engineering.


Candice Lukaszewicz, P.Eng.
Associate Structural Engineer | Stantec
Candice Lukaszewicz is the current Structural Engineering Discipline Lead for Water Alberta, Structural Engineering at Stantec Consulting Ltd., with over 15 years of experience in the engineering field. Based in Calgary, Alberta, Candice has made significant contributions to a wide range of sectors, including wastewater treatment, water storage, healthcare, education, heritage restoration, and aviation. Candice is also dedicated to community involvement, having served as the Past Calgary Section Chair and Vice-President of the Western Region for the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE). She has shared her knowledge and experience through presentations at conferences, including the CSCE Conference, where she spoke on international collaboration in a virtual world. Her passion for engineering and dedication to fostering the next generation of engineers are evident in her work and community contributions.


Dhilvinder Kaur
Senior Manager, Capital Projects Delivery | BC Pavilion Corporation (BC PavCo)
Dhilvinder is the Senior Manager, Capital Projects Delivery at BC Pavilion Corporation (BC PavCo), the entity responsible for Vancouver’s landmark venues, BC Place Stadium and the Vancouver Convention Centre. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering from UC San Diego and a Master of Civil Engineering – Structures from the University of Delaware.
With over a decade of experience in structural engineering and project management, Dhilvinder has led projects across diverse sectors, including bridge and building infrastructure, oil and gas, pulp and paper, and marine terminals. In her role, she is dedicated to ensuring the PavCo Capital Projects team surpasses expectations by delivering projects that drive significant economic and community benefits for British Columbia. Currently, Dhilvinder is leading the Capital Projects team on the BC Place Stadium infrastructure upgrades for FIFA 2026.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Dhilvinder is a devoted mother to a toddler and enjoys exploring the natural beauty of British Columbia with her family.

Elham Nasseri, P.Eng.
Department Manager – Process Control and Operational Technology | BBA
Elham Nasseri is a dynamic Instrumentation and Control Engineer with over 20 years of experience in the Oil & Gas, Mining, and Energy sectors. She is the Department Manager of the Process Control and Operational Technology (PCOT) team at BBA Consultant, where she leads multidisciplinary teams and oversees complex projects from concept to completion.

Elham combines deep technical expertise with strategic leadership to drive efficiency and deliver high-quality results. She is passionate about mentoring, team development, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.


Isolina Zazzara-Yu, PMP
Project Manager | Binnie
Isolina is a Project Manager at Binnie, with eight years of project management experience. She holds a BSc in Geography and a Certificate in GIS from Queen’s University. Isolina stumbled into the project management world after realizing she didn’t want to be a GIS technician. Starting as a Project Management Technician, she worked her way up to Project Manager, gaining experience with a variety of organizations and projects. From managing a public open house at the Vancouver Landfill to leading a workstream for a system-wide SkyTrain Station improvement project, Isolina believes it’s important to engage with the infrastructure she helps bring to life. She has worked on projects of all sizes—though she’s learned to be wary when someone says they have a “small and easy” project.
As a non-engineer and a woman in the engineering world, she is often challenging the notion that she is underqualified or doesn’t fit in. She embraces the value of diverse perspectives in engineering and believes that strong project management is just as critical as technical expertise in delivering successful projects. Isolina is passionate about the world around her—the people, the planet, and the impact we leave. She is driven by the opportunity to shape communities through infrastructure, ensuring that projects not only meet technical requirements but also create meaningful, lasting benefits for the people they serve.


Karen Hincks
Principal Engineering Geoscientist | WSP
Karen is the principal Engineering Geologist at WSP. She was born and raised in Maple Ridge, BC. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Applied Environmental Geology from the University of Calgary. After working for a year as a contaminant hydrogeologist for a year, she then moved to Edmonton to complete her Master of Science in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Alberta. Her Master’s was completed as a joint degree between the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Engineering, with courses in Engineering Geology and Rock Mechanics. As a result, Karen fell in love with the interface and integration between geological sciences and geotechnical engineering. Following completion of her master’s, she gained more experience working as a contaminant hydrogeologist prior to working in Amec’s (now WSP) geotechnical engineering group as a principal engineering geologist.


Kelsey Anderson, P.Eng.
Senior Associate | Introba
Kelsey Anderson is a Senior Associate and Electrical Engineer at Introba, with a decade of experience in building engineering. Passionate about advancing and retaining women in the field, she has served as the employee co-lead for Introba’s Women’s Employee Resource Group and as a Board Member for Women in Consulting Engineering Calgary, driving initiatives that foster equity and inclusion. Committed to continuous growth, Kelsey earned a Certificate in Professional Management from the University of Calgary in 2023. Her technical expertise, leadership, and dedication to creating inclusive workplaces make her a valued leader within her team and in the engineering community.


Kelsey Shields, P.Eng.
Project Engineer | Worley
Kelsey is currently a project Engineer with Worley, where she leads technical projects involving complex stakeholder management with the WMPG group, primarily focused on Alaska. Prior to this role, Kelsey served as the Area Facility Engineer at Chevron, overseeing engineering operations within the Kaybob Duvernay Asset. In this capacity, she managed all small capital projects from start to finish within the asset, while providing technical support for field operations, maintenance, and EPC handovers. Kelsey’s professional journey began as a technical Instrumentation and Controls Engineer, collaborating with prominent clients such as Shell, Chevron, Husky, MEG Energy, TC Energy

In addition to her engineering accomplishments, Kelsey has contributed to the digital solutions space through tools such as Replic8 and PowerBI. Most notably, she spearheaded the creation of the innovative digital tool “GAME” with the Worley Digital Team. Since its inception in January 2023, “GAME” has saved over 52,000 work hours.


Lara Taylor, NRM, P.Eng.
Principal | Legacy Environmental Ltd.
Lara Taylor is a founding Principal and Senior Regulatory Specialist with Legacy Environmental Ltd. Lara is a Professional Engineer with a master’s degree in resource and environmental management. She has 20 years of experience providing strategic regulatory advice to project proponents, supporting due diligence processes, and undertaking third-party reviews on behalf of government agencies and Crown corporations. Lara has in-depth knowledge of regulatory processes and environmental requirements during all phases of project development, with specific expertise in environmental impact assessment. Throughout her career, Lara has worked in a variety of sectors, particularly energy and marine terminals. Most recently, Lara led the environmental assessment processes for the Cedar LNG and Woodfibre LNG projects.


Laura Talboys, MSc, P.Eng.
Associate | RJC
Laura completed both her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Master of Science in Structural Engineering at the University of Alberta. As an Associate with RJC Edmonton’s Structural Engineering group, she is a creative thinker who solves problems. She has a wealth of experience in the design of water and wastewater treatment facilities, industrial buildings, parkades, recreational facilities and commercial buildings.

Laura is a strong advocate for women in STEM. She is active with WiSEST (Women in Scholarship, Engineering, Science and Technology) and volunteers at events where she interacts with young women and girls to highlight STEM-related careers. She also volunteers as a mentor to undergraduate students and early career professionals through various avenues.

Laura joined the new Civil Industry Advisory Board (CIAB) at the University of Alberta in 2024 to help shape the future of the civil engineering program. Laura and her husband Greg have a blended family with two children, two granddaughters, and a very spoiled dog.


Lucy Makina
Project Director | WSP
Over 23 years of experience as a Construction professional experienced in both pre and post contract work, including program management, project management, cost planning, estimating, budgeting, cost analysis, project reporting, and contract management of projects. Global working experience working on mega projects with multidisciplinary teams. As a Project Director with WSP, working in the Project Management team, I’m responsible for managing projects and multi-disciplinary design teams through the project’s life cycle, ensuring alignment with the project objectives, schedule, and cost constraints to facilitate successful project delivery. I’m passionate about the need for the development and nurturing of talent within our teams, as well as advocating for the representation of all our people at all levels so that they remain motivated and are continuously inspired to be the best version of themselves.


Maggie Kontonis, P.Eng., PMP
Senior Infrastructure Advisor | MNP
Maggie is a Senior Infrastructure Advisor and is an innovative and strategic infrastructure and capital projects leader with over a decade of experience steering complex, multi-million-dollar projects from conception to completion. Adept at bridging engineering, financial strategy, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver high-impact infrastructure solutions. Maggie is passionate about sustainable development, indigenous partnerships, and risk-informed decision-making. Known for a hands-on approach that blends technical expertise with a deep commitment to equity, compliance, and long-term asset performance.


Megan Wilson, P.Eng.
Program Engineering Manager | Worley
Megan Wilson is Program Engineering Manager for multiple clients in a small projects group, primarily supporting the hydrocarbon industry. Her current role leverages her extensive experience in small project execution and sustainable delivery, providing leadership and guidance to multi-disciplinary project teams for high-quality engineering delivery in a fast-paced environment. Megan has worked for Worley Canada Services Ltd for 20 years, starting in the Mechanical Engineering discipline. She enjoys spending time with family as well as playing competitive soccer and gardening in her spare time.

Monique Staals, P.Eng., PMP
Director – Project Delivery | RAM
Monique is the Director of Project Delivery at RAM, with 18 years of experience delivering capital projects. She is an active advocate for the advancement of women in leadership and believes that educating and empowering youth leaders is critical in generating meaningful change. Monique volunteers with several organizations with a focus on overcoming bias in science and engineering, and was the Women’s Infrastructure Network Emerging Leader Award Winner in 2022.


Nataliia Ruban, BSc, CET
Lead Design Technician | WSP Canada, Rail & Transit
Nataliia Ruban is a Lead Design Technician with over 10 years of cumulative experience in CAD, civil, and motion design. She graduated from the National University of Radio Electronics in Ukraine with a degree in Computer Science, and from SAIT with a Civil Engineering Technology diploma. Nataliia is pursuing her career in Rail and Transit and leading a team of rail engineers and technicians in Calgary. She is involved in various project roles that include rail design, CAD modelling, multidisciplinary coordination, BIM methodologies and training. Outside of work, Nataliia is acting as an operational instructor for the ACKU martial arts school, teaching family karate.


Nicole Babuik, P.Eng.
Structural Lead | Ausenco
Nicole is a seasoned structural engineer with 15+ years of experience leading diverse, multi-disciplinary teams through complex rehabilitation, renovation, and upgrade projects. She brings a deep understanding of existing building environments and thrives in solving complex issues, coordinating technical teams, and working with regulatory agencies.


Niki Roy, P.Eng.
Project Engineer | Mott MacDonald
Niki Roy is a civil engineer who has spent the last 8 years working on a variety of infrastructure projects in the transportation, structural, and rail & transit sectors across Canada, the US, and the Philippines. Throughout her career, she has evolved across a range of project phases, including conceptual and detailed design, quality assurance reviews, contract administration, and construction management. Niki is currently working on the Calgary Green Line LRT project as a Project Engineer for the Stations & Facilities scope. When not at work, she is usually doing something active (basketball, volleyball, hiking and running), planning her next international trip, or trying new restaurants and breweries with friends.


Rebecca Henderson, P.Eng., LEED AP

Rebecca Henderson is a respected leader at RJC with over a decade of experience in structural design, specializing in steel and concrete buildings for institutional, post-disaster, and commercial projects. With a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta, Rebecca has built a reputation for delivering consistent service and fostering collaboration with her teams. Her career, which began in Edmonton and now continues on Vancouver Island, includes expertise in both new construction and complex renovations., A passionate mentor and advocate for women in engineering, she actively supports Women and Girls in STEM programs. Rebecca has been with RJC Engineers since 2007, progressing from Design Engineer to Project Engineer, and now serves as Group Leader.


Siobhan Robinson, P.Eng.
Sector Leader, Water Supply and Treatment | Kerr Wood Leidal
Siobhan Robinson leads the Water Supply and Treatment sector at Kerr Wood Leidal. A Chemical Engineer by training, Siobhan is passionate about improving health through the development of community water and wastewater infrastructure.

Siobhan has volunteered with both the BC Water and Waste Association (BCWWA) and the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies (ACEC) for more than 10 years, including serving as a Director on both the ACEC-BC and ACEC-Canada Boards. She is currently serving on the BCWWA Board of Directors. Through her volunteer work, Siobhan aims to facilitate the engagement and retention of professionals in the water sector.


Suzanne Powell, Ph.D, PEng.
Principal Engineer | Thurber Engineering
Suzanne Powell, Ph.D, PEng, is a Principal at Thurber Engineering. She joined Thurber as a geotechnical engineer in their Victoria operations after completing her studies at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and hasn’t looked back. Suzanne currently manages the Victoria Branch and has broken down barriers in a typically male-dominated industry, being the first female Branch Manager and Principal at Thurber. Suzanne is also very active in the industry outside her organization. She is Vice-Chair of the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies BC and incoming president of the Victoria Civil Heritage Trust. She also sits on the Canadian Foundation for Geotechnique Board. Outside of work and her professional commitments, Suzanne enjoys camping and exploring Vancouver Island with her husband and two children.


Tamsin Silvester, ChPP RPP (UK)
Program Director | WSP
Tamsin is the Vice President of WSP’s Rail & Transit team in Western Canada, with over 25 years of experience in technical, professional and engineering management roles. She is an accomplished and multi-disciplined leader and has been responsible for leading design, technical, financial, and program management for projects with a wide variety of values, forms of contract, nature and scope of work. Starting her career in the UK, Tamsin transferred to WSP Canada in 2016, where she has worked as the Design Manager for the Edmonton Metro NW LRT, the WSP Pursuit Lead for the Broadway Subway Project proposal, Project Manager for Additional Works and Systems Integration for the OnTrack Alliance Union Station Expansion Project in Toronto and she is currently Pursuit Lead for Calgary Green Line LRT, a Progressive Collaborative procurement model. In these roles, she led collaborative multi-disciplinary teams, liaising and coordinating between many different parties, including internal departments, external consultants, clients, Joint Venture contractors, local municipalities and other stakeholders.


Victoria Camp, P.Eng., M.Eng., M.S.Com.
Geological Engineer | BGC
Victoria is a geological engineer who’s passionate about geotechnical design and accessible technical communication. After graduating from UBC Geological Engineering in 2015, she joined BGC. She worked on the analysis, design, and construction of large earth-fill dams and other infrastructure types on sites in Ontario, British Columbia, and the Northwest Territories. In 2022, she stepped away from work to pursue two master’s programs that reflected her dual interests: a Master of Science Communication at Laurentian and a Master of Engineering in Civil-Geotech at UBC. Since graduating, she has rejoined BGC and resumed work supporting the design and construction of large earth dams. Fun fact: Victoria used to serve as the WCE Director of Mentorship, so she is loving this full-circle moment!
